Parker 51 Mk. lll in Black.

Regular price £115.00

This pen is reserved.

The Parker 51 Mk. III was introduced in 1969, and gave way to the Mk. lV in 1971. This is a Mk. lll pen, only made for a very short period.  The pen is in mint, unused condition.

The Parker 51 has gained iconic status, it is the most successful pen ever produced and is still in demand today, although the last 51 was made over fifty years ago.  The pen is famed for its writing ability, the nib performance and ink flow on the Parker 51 is second to none.  This is largely as a result of the patented 'ink collector' which serves as a second reservoir providing a consistent ink flow to the 14Ct Gold nib, which is kept moist and protected by the 'hood' or shell.

This pen is finished in Classic Black with a 'Lustralloy' cap which carries a Chrome plated 'arrow' clip and a pearl grey end stud.  This was replaced with an integral metal stud in 1971, apparently there was some concern about toddlers ingesting the pearl stud!  This pen therefore had a very short production run, always a good sign for collectors.

The pen came to me as unused, the overall condition of the pen confirms it has seen little, if any use.  The pen body is has a deep, flawless shine, the 'Lustralloy' cap shows no dings, the cap frosting is intact and the transparent 'pli-glass ink sac ink sac is unstained.

As with many 'new old stock' pens, it was unboxed so I've provided a new, high quality box, with an outer sleeve,  that will serve well for protection, transport, and display.

Despite being around fifty years old the Parker 51 Mk. III still has a modern appearance but with all the Parker 51 prestige. It would make a great vintage every day user.
