Conway Stewart 36

Regular price £95.00

The Conway Stewart 36, made in the 1950s, is one of the last 'true' high quality Conway pens.  Finished in classic black, this is an extremely fine, fully restored example.

The pen has an excellent surface with a crisp, clear imprint. the Gold filling to the clip and triple cap bands is also in good order.  The cap is a smooth screw fit, tightening with one and a half turns.

A new, correct size 17, ink sac was fitted and the lever filling system works well and takes up a good volume of ink.  The original CS 5N, 14 Ct. Gold nib is straight and well aligned.  It is a superb writer, delivering a smooth and consistent medium line.  It has a most pleasing 'soft' feel.

The pen measures 12.7 cm, capped and grows to an impressive 15.2 cm, 6 inches, in length when posted.  It is a very comfortable and easy writer with a well balanced, high quality feel.

I have included a new presentation box for the pen, it will serve well for protection and display.

The triple cap band and premier quality nib are signs that Conway Stewart rated the 36 among its higher end offerings, it certainly has the look and feel of a top quality pen.  It is quite a rare pen that would make a handsome and reliable daily vintage writer.
