Sheaffer Snorkel Sentinel.

Regular price £125.00

The Sheaffer Snorkel Sentinel was among the first Snorkel models to be introduced, in 1952.

The pen is a 'White Dot' model, a mark of quality that was applied to pens that sold at higher retail prices.  Readily identifiable by the mirror finish cap and Gold trim, the Sentinel was made at the Fort Madison works in Iowa, U.S.A.

This is a fully reconditioned example in black, it is in first class working order throughout, showing very little sign of use.  The barrel has an excellent surface and a clear imprint.  The polished cap and gold fill are similarly pristine.

The Snorkel tube extends and retracts correctly and the filling system works with one depression of the plunger.  The conical 14 Ct. Gold nib is a large, very striking affair, it writes with an extra fine line.

The box is new and unbranded but will serve well for protection, transport, and display.

At 14.2 cm. capped and a most impressive 16.2 cm. when posted, the Sentinel is a long, slender, and elegant pen.  At around seventy years old, it is now very collectable but would also serve well as an every day vintage writer.
