The Sheaffer Sailor sentinel is the result of a collaboration with the Japanese pen manufacturer, Sailor, in the early 1980s. The 'Sentinel' part of the name harks back to Sheaffer models produced decades earlier.
The pen is in excellent condition with very few signs of use. It has a very deep Red lacqered finish and a Gold filled clip bearing a stylised Sheaffer/ Sailor 'S' and carries the Sheaffer name along with 'Japan' on the back of the cap.
The cap is a snug push fit, closing with a satisfying click.
A cartridge filler, the pen is fitted with an 'F-4' nib with a heart shaped breather hole and engraved with the Sheaffer name.
The pen uses Sheaffer slim cartridges or a Sailor converter. As these are quite hard to come by I have left a used cartridge in the pen which can be easily refilled with a srynge.
At 13.5 cm. capped and 14.7 cm. posted for use it is a good sized and well balanced pen with a high quality feel.
